Editorial policy
The habits of a small press, applied to a new subject. This is how a Scribe guide is made.
Independence
We are a publisher, not a casino operator, and we do not take wagers. Reviews are not submitted to operators for approval. Where we link to an operator we say so in the text. If a link is ever commercial, it will be marked as such; the verdict does not change either way.
Testing
Every casino review is based on a real account funded with our own money, held for a minimum of three weeks, including at least one completed withdrawal. Slot reviews are based on play at the stated casino and RTP configuration, on at least two devices.
The checklist
Licence and regulator; independent testing; welcome offer with wagering shown in dollars; banking for Canadians; withdrawal speed on our own cashout; game library and providers; mobile experience; support response times; responsible gaming tools. Scores out of five reflect this checklist and our judgement.
Sources
Operator sites and terms, regulator registers, testing-lab certificates, game provider sheets, and player forums for complaint patterns. We do not reproduce other publications' text.
Updates and corrections
Every guide shows a publication date and a last-reviewed date. We re-check offers, licences and game libraries at least quarterly and whenever a reader reports a change. Corrections are made in place and noted at the foot of the page. Report an error via the contact page.
Authorship
Guides are bylined to the Scribe Guides desk, a small editorial team based around the Great Lakes, so that no single writer's account becomes the basis for a verdict. Our writers are over the legal age in their province and play as ordinary customers.
